Location and Transport
Nottingham is served by all the major transport operators. It is the
capital city of the East Midlands and Nottingham East Midlands airport
is only 30 minutes drive away. Car hire and coach connections are available
to complete your journey to Nottingham
There is a large bus station from where all destinations can be accessed
and there is a main line train station serving all the major cities
in the UK.
Two main road arteries run close to the city, To the West there is
the M1 from London to Leeds and to the East there is the A1(M) from
London to Scotland. Most other major motorways are easily accessible
from these two.
There is also a canal which is navigable.
Directions by road
From the M1
Leave the motorway at exit 26 and follow the A610 towards Nottingham.
Pass over the ring road. On your left hand side you will see the Volvo dealership Stratstone. At the second set of traffic lights after Speeds
turn left. This is Gregory Boulevard. At the end of the Boulevard there
is a roundabout, take the first exit into Sherwood Rise. Third Avenue
is the third turning on the left.
From the A1
Take the A52 to Nottingham City Centre. Take the A60 Mansfield Road
out of the City. About three quarters of a mile out of the city you
will arrive at a large roundabout, take the first exit onto the smaller
roundabout and then take the second exit into Sherwood Rise. Third
Avenue is the third turning on the left.
From Mansfield or the A614
Take the A60 towards Nottingham, you will pass the façade of
the old Home Brewery on your left, continue on and eventually you will
pass the The Park Inn on your left and immediately after
there is a large roundabout. Take the second exit on to the small roundabout
and take the second exit into Sherwood Rise. Third Avenue is the third
turning on the left.
From the City centre
Take the A60 Mansfield Road out of the City. About three quarters
of a mile out of the city you will arrive at a large roundabout, take
the first exit onto the smaller roundabout and then take the second
exit into Sherwood Rise. Third Avenue is the third turning on the left.
From Nottingham University/ Queens Medical Centre
Take the A52 towards Nottingham. At the second major
set of traffic lights after the hospital turn left onto Lenton Boulevard
this leads onto Radford Boulevard and this leads onto Gregory Boulevard.
At the end of Gregory Boulevard you come to a roundabout, take the
first exit into Sherwood Rise. Third Avenue is the third turning on
the left.
